Pyrolysis, also called chemical recycling, is a technique used to convert plastic waste to an intermediate liquid product that can be refined to drop-in hydrocarbon biofuels, oxygenated fuel additives,and petrochemical replacements. Plastic Pyrolysis is the thermal degradation of plastic waste usually conducted at around 450 °C in the absence of oxygen. Pyrolysis of plastic waste produces three products: bio-oil, bio-char and syngas.
